In honor of today’s release of WoW: Wrath of the Lich King, this week’s IOTW will, obviously, be WOTLK.
WOTLK marks the second expansion and approximately the fourth year running of the World of Warcraft expansion. It adds a host of new features and, possibly, makes a bigger leap in game-play than Burning Crusade did. Achievements, new 5-man dungeons, 10/25-man raid content, a whole new heroic class, and much more can be found in this expansion and there is no telling what the developers have in mind for later versions of the 3.0 patch. Whether you PVP, PVE, RP, or anything in-between, you will find plenty to do in WOTLK.

Was it ever any wonder what this week’s IOTW was going to be?
This week we will look at the latest album by AC/DC which we already discussed at a high level. Today we will look at the music itself and how the latest offering measures up against previous releases. I’m only 23 years old and there are already two events in my life that I can safely say that I will never forget where I was and what I was doing at the moment they occurred: 9/11, and the election of Barack Obama. Simply put, more (non-violent) history was made last night than has been made in the sum of the past 7 years. There is the, of course, obvious things like the election of a black man to President, but then there is also the subtle things like voter turnout and state leaning.
The young college youth, latinos, and blacks should all be patting themselves on the back today because yesterday they did what has never been done before – for what seemed like the most unlikely of candidates.

If you happen to be a major company that produces a popular development framework, operating system, or even just a popular application, your product is likely a bigger business than what you see on your quarterly statements. In the computer world, where everything complicated is voodoo to those without the knowledge and those with the knowledge are constantly craving a new edge, all manner of books, tapes, videos, and other instructional sets are all the rage.
Whether it’s the latest release of .NET, a new version of Ubuntu, or a new version of Adobe Photoshop fresh off the press, the information industry is gigantic and there are people making easy money simply by knowing how to use your products.

AC/DC just recently dropped a new album called ‘Black Ice’ that quickly soared to one of the best selling albums of 2008 with nearly 800,000 copies sold already. Even AC/DC themselves are surprised by the numbers they are seeing this early in the albums life. What does this mean for the rest of the industry?
It means that if you put out a good album, people will buy it.
