Kmart, or their shipper, blows
on June 17, 2008 at 3:00 amOrdering things off the internet has been a mainstay in my “things that make me lazy” resume for many years now. I have ordered everything from CDs to lamps to computers. I have, for the most part, managed to remain untouched by shipping problems. The only situation I can largely remember was when DHL lost a monitor I bought from some no-name internet company. However, today has ushered in a whole new addition to my experienced problems.
I ordered a new dining room table from Kmart’s online internet site. I have never used Kmart to order anything online and haven’t heard anything to lead me to believe they are a poor e-tailer. I have, on the other hand, shopped in their stores with no previous issues.
Today, Jon arrived home from work to find my dining table arrived… in just about the worst condition I have ever seen a package. If I was the guy delivering the product, I would have been ashamed to leave it on my door. If I was here to receive said package, I would not have signed and would have turned it away.
Without further adue, here are the pictures:
Yea so, I have to call them to get it sorted out. Will update when I know more.
Update (6-18-08): called them up and they told me to open it up and see what it looked like inside. If anything was missing or damaged, I should bring it back to a store. I opened it up to find a table-top that was chewed up on the corner and pretty severly fucked. In other words, now I have to run out to the store and try to deal with them on getting it replaced.
