Music is a service now, that's all. And just like other services you have to keep providing it if you want to keep getting paid. No longer can you make 4 records and live for the rest of your life (or more likely you label lives for the rest of their lives, you get fucked).

My heart bleeds for these guys, it's so unfair to have to keep working to keep getting paid.

Problem is. We've been trying to train users on security for years. They don't care or want to learn.

You know I'm not McAfee fan but we are legally obligated to do this sort of thing. If we don't and Something Bad(tm) happens, we get our asses sued off because we didn't perform our due diligence.

The key is software with a finer granularity and less performance hit, which is surely available.

I agree with your assessment. I also bought one from Best Buy and have been fairly pleased. Not only is the machine a good buy, it outperforms, out-of-the-box, some other Vista machines costing much more.

I did upgrade the RAM to 4GB and the machine now sings.

I actually purchased an Asus eee 1000HD running Win XP Home, but returned it. The trackpad was a disaster for me and rendered the little guy difficult to use. For a few dollars more, this Acer 4420-5963 fills the bill.

I think you misunderstand. You only "let the market handle it" when it's fucking the common man. If it threatens the super rich they need a hand out (wait, aren't they against hand outs?).

This is really just a smaller part of a fundamental problem. Corporate welfare.

Everyone is better than everyone else.

I waste a ton of time railing around town on my bike wasting fuel=money. I want to get into racing bikes. I guess one day I can be as good as the guy that doesn't play wow to go "racin." I'll tell you one thing, if you are enjoying your wow time it's got to be the cheapest form of entertainment I've encountered. I've shit thousands of dollars into ice hockey, paintball, motorcycles. Easily hundreds of times the cost/hour. When I was playing paintball I had to really limit myself from shooting over $80 in one day. I can easily spend $25/day in fuel riding my bike.

All of these things have one thing in common. They aren't going to get me anywhere ever (well the bike can move me physically I guess). They are just a way to pass the time.

In conclusion the haters are probably just bad at gaming and can't come to grips with it.
