Ordering things off the internet has been a mainstay in my “things that make me lazy” resume for many years now. I have ordered everything from CDs to lamps to computers. I have, for the most part, managed to remain untouched by shipping problems. The only situation I can largely remember was when DHL lost a monitor I bought from some no-name internet company. However, today has ushered in a whole new addition to my experienced problems.

(I don’t mean to objectify women, so don’t take any part of this story to mean that)
Attractive ladies young and… well… maybe a bit older than me, I love you but there is something we really must discuss: crummy attitudes.

I have been trying, essentially all day, to make this template’s PNG header image, RSS image, and other images work in IE6 without a giant gray box. I’ve decided to say “fuck it.”
IE6 is deprecated and old and bad. If you are using it, upgrade. This site works in FF, Opera(assumed), and IE7.

Want to try to lose at least 10 pounds before the end of August – going to try a forey of different plans including eatting better during lunch, including snacks between breakfast/lunch and lunch/dinner, supplementing my diet with a multivitamin/fish oil/carnitine, keeping track of my calorie intake with a site someone directed me to called The Daily Plate and exercising more.
Perhaps if I can get to the gym, which I pay for access to every month, 3 times a week(Mondays, Wednesday, Friday – days I don’t raid)and do a bit of running or bike riding, I can drop some weight. To be honest though, its really just my gut that I would like to cut down. I am not overly displeased with my weight or anything – just think it could be better.

As was pointed out to me, there is an article on Slashdot about a new bill that was recently passed in the Hosue of Representatives. This bill, H.R. 4279, establishes a new organization under the Federal District Attorney which has the sole purpose of policing copyright infringement. To make matters just a bit worse, they have the power to collect any computer which they believe has even a single piece of material of “dubious origin,” aka: P2P traded files.

…is apparently how many are required to harass two motorcyclists who did nothing wrong. That is how many stuck around anyway. A total of four Monroe County Sheriff’s Officers and one City of Rochester K-9 Unit responded to this major threat.
The Pull Over
About a week ago, as my buddy and I made a right turn from a just turned green light we were greeted by the first officer who “thought we might be able to help him with something.” Seconds later we were swarmed by the rest of the force. I was awarded additional questioning thanks either to my out of state driver’s license, nice bike, or maybe I just look like the kind of guy who doesn’t own the bike I’m riding. By this time the K-9 Unit and fourth County cop had left the scene.
The Douche Bag
So we have remaining the original guy, silent guy, and Officer Standup, the comedian. The first guy heads back to his car and is doing whatever it is they do at this point, run my plates, whatever. This is when Standup starts his routine. This guy is the stereotypical fat ass, douche bag cop. He starts out letting us know that we were “driving like assholes,” which is interesting given that neither him, nor any other cop, witnessed anything other than us turn a corner at below 10mph and then pull over as requested.
