According to a “top” U.S. evangelical leader, Obama is:
…deliberately distorting the Bible and taking a fruitcake interpretation of the U.S. Constitution…
To such an accusation, I respond: who cares?

Just read on CNN.com that Sen. Obama, presumptive nominee for the Democratic Presidential Campaign has taken the unprecedented step of foregoing public financing for his campaign. I personally take this as a sign that, not only was he serious about change, but that hes actually following through with it.

Jon and I recently got hit with $20 charges ($40 total for all you mathematicians out there) by RIT Housing Operations. They claim that we stole, destroyed, or in some way removed a tower lamp from the room. I find this to be hilarious because, upon move-in, there was no lamp.

As was pointed out to me, there is an article on Slashdot about a new bill that was recently passed in the Hosue of Representatives. This bill, H.R. 4279, establishes a new organization under the Federal District Attorney which has the sole purpose of policing copyright infringement. To make matters just a bit worse, they have the power to collect any computer which they believe has even a single piece of material of “dubious origin,” aka: P2P traded files.

…is apparently how many are required to harass two motorcyclists who did nothing wrong. That is how many stuck around anyway. A total of four Monroe County Sheriff’s Officers and one City of Rochester K-9 Unit responded to this major threat.
The Pull Over
About a week ago, as my buddy and I made a right turn from a just turned green light we were greeted by the first officer who “thought we might be able to help him with something.” Seconds later we were swarmed by the rest of the force. I was awarded additional questioning thanks either to my out of state driver’s license, nice bike, or maybe I just look like the kind of guy who doesn’t own the bike I’m riding. By this time the K-9 Unit and fourth County cop had left the scene.
The Douche Bag
So we have remaining the original guy, silent guy, and Officer Standup, the comedian. The first guy heads back to his car and is doing whatever it is they do at this point, run my plates, whatever. This is when Standup starts his routine. This guy is the stereotypical fat ass, douche bag cop. He starts out letting us know that we were “driving like assholes,” which is interesting given that neither him, nor any other cop, witnessed anything other than us turn a corner at below 10mph and then pull over as requested.

There was a recent announcement made Tuesday by the TSA regarding your right to fly on airplanes without ID. Apparently, in the past, one could fly sans ID by agreeing to a secondary pat-down and search of your carry-on bag(this is in addition to the possibility that your carry-on could be randomly searched before boarding). Now, the TSA says that you MUST have an ID and refusing to present one will equate to you being denied access to the terminals.
Beginning Saturday, June 21, 2008 passengers that willfully refuse to provide identification at security checkpoint will be denied access to the secure area of airports. This change will apply exclusively to individuals that simply refuse to provide any identification or assist transportation security officers in ascertaining their identity.
